IBE Invisible Extensions Home Care

Please follow the directions provided to you by your certified styfist and use only products approved by your certified stylist in order to prevent damage to the Extension hair and your own.

Coloring

Serious damage may be caused to your Extensions and to your own hair by chemical treatments at home, or by hairdressers not thoroughly familiar with Hand Tied Extensions. This is because color or perming chemicals may possibly damage the Extensions or your own hair. All chemical treatments of your own hair should be carried out at a certified stylist studio. The range of color changes possible with Hair Extensions is limited by certain chemical factors understood only by your professional certified stylist.

Cutting

Hairdressers not familiar with Extensions may damage it by cutting it too short or by using the incorrect technique. Please make sure to contact your Certified Stylist when looking for a trim.

Maintenance

As your hair grows, the hand tied Extensions will move further away from your scalp along with your own hair.

This can increase the traction on your own hair. It is imperative to get your extensions maintenanced. You will need to come into the salon every 7-10 weeks for a move up.

Styling

When heat styling make sure to use a thermal and or heat protectant. Heat tools 230-350 degrees. When wearing a ponytail a low or top ponytail is fine. Please to don't place ponytail in the middle back of your head.

Make sure once ponytail is secure please loosen the front corners of your ponytail to reduce tension at the corner ends.

Brushing Technique

Extra care must be taken when brushing the hair. Only brushing in a downward motion, you never want to go against the cuticle. Using an extension brush that has boar bristle or recommended by me is most ideal as that will help cleanse the scalp and strands while brushing and removing any tangles that have occurred. Hold your hair close to the base and brush from the ends working your way up the shaft of the hair.

These instructions are key to the longevity of your extensions. Please use the professional products recommended by your certified stylist. Remember your natural hair benefits from all the healthy food, collagen & vitamins you eat/take. Hair extensions aren't attached to a life source like your natural hair, therefore they need some TLC to ensure their extended lifespan.

Don't forget the Oil

Use a Stylist recommend oil or serum through the ends once per day on dry hair. If applying heat use a heat and or thermal protectant.

Swimming

When swimming it is advisable to:

Braid or put your hair extensions into a ponytail as this will prevent knotting

Rinse your hair in fresh water before going into the pool or Ocean & add a moisture hair mask for protection, as well as rinsing once you get out.

Apply a leave-in conditioner once you get out of the water.

Dry hair immediately focusing on the top of the wefts.

Working Out/Physical Activity:

  • Brush hair prior to working out or physical activity. Hair should be in a ponytail or braided.

  • If going to the sauna or washing hair dry wefts immediately focusing on the top of weft. Sweat & dirt could cause tangles if left in the hair. We recommend you use a hair masque to nourish hair that may be dried out from the salt in sweat.

Sleeping

We suggest sleeping on a smooth silky surface that is non-abrasive and will assist in taking care of your Extensions while sleeping. Never go to bed with wet hair, this wil cause tangling & will matte the hair. If this occurs, contact your stylist immediately.

Loosely braid or put your hair into a ponytail when sleeping. Silk Bonet is highly recommended.
